Chicago area conservation

Through the continuous efforts of various conservation organizations; volunteers; and local, state and national governmental agencies Chicago (and surrounding towns) strive to preserve the rich ecological resources in and around these areas. In fact, the Forest Preserves of Cook County was established prior to the National Park Service!
