Green Chemistry

☼ What is green chemistry (aka sustainable chemistry)? Green chemistry reduces adverse health and environmental effects through the development of innovative processes and chemical products.

According to the U.S. EPA…

The American Chemical Society Green Chemistry Institute (ACS GCI) lists green chemistry historical timeline, educational, innovative, educational resources and news.

Environmental Chemistry (EC)

Although they’re related how does green chemistry differ from environmental chemistry?

Environmental chemistry is the study of chemical species and reactions in the air, water and soil as well as human activity effects on these.

Green chemistry seeks to reduce or eliminate harmful effects of chemicals on human health and the environment by designing, developing and implementing innovative processes and products.
